Uttarakhand – The Land of Gods

Uttarakhand, or the Land of Gods is a beautiful piece of Himalayan heaven close to Delhi. Within this small hill state, hill stations like Nainital, Ranikhet and Almora are very popular with Indian and British tourists alike.

Of these places, Ranikhet, thanks to the huge cantonment, old bungalows and thick forests is perhaps the most well preserved.

Ranikhet – A Timeless Hill Station

Quiet walks, dense forests, fresh air smelling of Pine needles and superb views of snow clad Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi make Ranikhet an ideal destination for the tourist who wants a quiet holiday to rest, relax, restore sense in a mad, rushed world.

A few kilometres from Ranikhet, past the stunning Golf Course, lies the village of Majhkhali with breath taking views of the greater Himalayas.

Stay at Himalaya Niwas

And in this village lies our Himalaya Niwas, a cozy, comfortable cottage that has been newly renovated and has all modern facilities. Himalaya Niwas lies in the middle of a small fruit orchard of its own, and at the ends are mini forests with Deodar and Rhododendron trees within the one-acre plot. You can spot dozens of bird species while sitting on its balcony, sipping your cup of tea.

Come spend some days, in the peace and quiet of our home in the hills, and refresh the body and spirit.
